Out of Date
This app has the potential to be fantastic, but there's a huge lack of effort put into it. Badges are broken under iOS4, and the app doesn't alert me to new posts. It hasn't even been updated to fit the retina screen yet. It needs to be updated a bit more often. Update: Everything above has been fixed. Several months of waiting wasn't so great, but at least it happened. So I'm revising this review.

Needs improvements
Good for helping u stay up to date with yammer updates but needs to be able to let u look at specific groups instead of just everyones post. It has room to be a lot better app than it is

Where to begin
I actually like the proposed features set of Yammer and Socialcast better than that of Chatter, but the inability of either to actually execute a mobile app that is stable and works is frustrating to say the least. Beyond that where it the QC. We wait and wait for Apple to vet this stuff and then within a few minutes, it's clear that the most basic of functions simply doesn't work only reflects the lack of care on behalf of everyone involved. Also, all of these private social network providers need to understand that more often than not, the primary means of input is your mobile device, not a nice to have when you are away from your computer. If you can't provide an app that actually works, then just don't provide it. One may point to the fact that the app if free. Free garbage is still garbage. My recommendation to anyone involved in implementing a private social network, look at chatter. you may have to wait for some functionality, but once released it will work. Their development path and business model is reflective of a company that puts a modicum of care into their release as well as the user experience.
