My Go-To Synth
I have tried almost all of the iOS synths, and I find myself coming back to GrainBender for it's ability to construct unique sounds. It does not have a lot of presets, but it has outstanding controls that allow the user to create whatever sound is needed for the situation at hand. It is definitely my "Go-to" synth.

More like a Tinkertoy. No support page.
Most of the sounds are toyish sounding. You have to work pretty hard to make then musical. The biggest problem so far is saving my presets. They just don't save half the time. There is no developer page, or help, or support. When my preset does show up in the preset list it sounds nothing like the sound is was working on. 2 stars is being generous.

If you're looking for a complete synth with traditional presets then this ain't your app. If you want to to some fun synthesis using grain manip with fun automation than this is it! Within the narrow focus it really enables you to produce some fun sounds that morph before your eyes (or ears).

Not exiting.
The only thing the app has going for it is the ability to record knob movements. This can be done with many other apps and coreMIDI. The sounds. Are not too great. It is grainy sounding and not inspiring. Not worth the money.

Great Synth
One of my favorite ipad synths. Layout is intuitive and love the ui. I like to see a developer using Ableton style 2d knob design etc vs taking up CPU to display traditional 3d knobs. Sonically goes head to head with Alchemy or any of the other pro level synths imo. Good range of va to granular. Not sure any other synth covers the same territory really.
