Very useable
I am constantly finding new ways to use this app. I highly recommend it as a teaching/learning tool.

Good start
This app is just ok. I actually don't see myself using it in its current form. The biggest problem to me is that the writing engine is really not great. It looks very jagged and childish. In order to be legible, I have to write very large, and of course, that limits what I can put on the screen. Improve the writing, give me some more exporting options, and you'll be onto something. Until then, I'll keep using Jing and my Smartpen.

Great app for fast, simple screencasts
As a teacher and user of Camtasia and Snag-it, it's not quite fair to compare these to ScreenChomp. I am pleased that Techsmith offers a way to screencast free from the iPad. This is not Camtasia, but it does what it claims to do. One recommendation is to either allow a way to change backgrounds when paused, or to import more than one background. I think one work-around for this might be to somehow merge multiple backgrounds into a single PDF and then import that PDF into ScreenChomp, which would provide the multiple backgrounds needed. Finally other suggestions would be to offer a wider range of color schemes and more background options either through users submitted backgrounds or standard templates. Also, to offer a "send to Dropbox" (or other cloud service) option (NOT into the land of Zuckerberg!) Also, having the option to login or create an account in order to delete recordings on the cloud would both serve the need to delete something permanently and also not to leave unused data on a server indefinitely. All in all, this is a great app, and it's is a terrific way for teachers to have an inexpensive way to extend the classroom for our students. If you use Camtasia, it's actually quite liberating not having to worry about spending more time to edit and render desktop tutorials.

Great App
I have really enjoyed using this app. As a teacher I can give students feedback on assignments, or because I have iPads for the classroom I can let the students submit assignments to me.
