Wow. Fantastic. Just Get It.
I write Python and C# professionally. This is an amazing app for iPad. I have been looking for dev apps for a long time; I have Textastic, Python for iOS, etc - this beats them all hands down. This is not as good as a true desktop IDE, but it is good enough that writing real code on iPad is now a feasible and enjoyable experience. Just get it. Some suggestions for devs: - Option for tabs to spaces - Backup to Dropbox or iCloud - Import external libraries somehow (NumPy, etc) - Organize library into folder hierarchy - Select multiple lines and (un)indent

Python beginners & veteran programmers. This is the one to get!!
Powerful editor and Python-centric keyboard make this THE python app for iOS. The developer is a great guy who is quick to respond to any questions you may have. If you are just learning Python or are a programming veteran just looking for a mobile solution, Pythonista is the app you are looking for.

Great app
Definitely has the potential to be the premier python coding/experimenting app for the iPad. Compares favorably to Textastic and beats Koder hands down. I would recommend this app to Python students and experienced python programmers looking for a mobile option.

This is the first app I have reviewed because it is the first one that has blown me away quite like this one. Very impressive. Kudos to the developers. I don't mean to throw stones but I started with Python for iOS. These two apps aren't even in the same league. If you have to make a choice, get this one.

Polished and thought-out
This is the best Python app out there, bar none. Great to see this level of detail brought to a coding app--the rest tend to be scrappy free-time projects.

Python on the iPad
I bought this app since it looked interesting, and after some playing with it, I was amazed. This app delivers everything it promises and more. To give the user an idea of the app's power, the creator included example python programs. One draws an analog clock that displays the current time. Another one draws circles where you touch the iPad. My favorite is a matching game where you remove adjacent tiles that are the same design by touching them. I played it for a little bit, and then I looked at the source code to see how it was made. The code was very well written and organized. I decided to modify it a bit so there were only 2 types of tiles. It was easy to find what needed to be changed and what to change it to. A few moments later, I was playing my newly modified (and much easier) game. There is a lot of documentation, both for the python language and app specific libraries. There is also a large library of images and sounds to use, and an easy way to choose them. There's also an option of using a command line interpreter to run python code. This program has crashed twice on me so far. Both times I was erasing an existing program by holding down the delete key. I was able to avoid this problem later by turning off automatic text completion. Otherwise this program has worked fine. I'm very glad I picked up this app.
