I'm a DIY person and found I was able to install the t-stat, connect it to WiFi, download this app, and start heating my house in 30 minutes. Programming a schedule through the app took just about as long but much of that time was due to my indecisiveness in deciding what time and temperature I wanted the t-stat to function at. The t-stat, iPhone app, and web interface all work as advertised. Now the device looks so cool ❄it looks and feels like it should be able to do everything my smartphone does. Simply it adjusts the temp from anywhere I have a signal. I really appreciate the ability to put the tStat in away mode, leave for the weekend, and restart the furnace a few hours before getting home. I installed the Nest in my house less than 30 days ago and am patiently waiting for the end if the month to see the energy report that Nest says will be emailed to me at the end of the month. One feature I would like to see is the ability to see the energy report and usage stats through the web portal/app anytime I want.

Both the thermostat and the app work fine. One problem came when we had a power outage in the neighborhood. Thermostat and app acted funny and after a few hours I realized that some thing was wrong. A call to customer service produce instant result after the assistant talked me through "reset" on the thermostat "push" dial. Been working great ever since.

Slow Communication
Communication between app and thermostat has become very slow since updating to iOS 6.1... whatever. The app also routinely indicates that the thermostat is not connected to the wifi network. By connecting through a web browser (on or off the same network) I can confirm that the thermostat is indeed connected. This has always been an issue.

Good Concept But Not There Yet
Pros: Easy to install. Convenience to change temperature from anywhere. Great design. Cons: Thermostat is off by 3 to 4 degrees. Not acceptable. Doesn't turn on when it drops below the heat set point. It takes 1-2 degrees before it turns on. They need a great software engineer not just a good one. Customer service keeps telling you it's "learning". Please! Early adopters are already tech savvy.

Great for your business
I would like to say this is a great app and t-stat. I am a contractor that has installed 10 in one house for my client. My client is the one that told me about it. He lives in Hong Kong and has a house in New York so it's great for him to keep tabs on his heat cost which is all radiant floor heat. I recently installed one in my rental that I pay for the heat so to the fact that they would leave the heat on 90 and leave for a couple days. So it's nice that I can monitor it and save myself money. I think this is the greatest thing for home owners and business owners keep up the good work.

Great Nest T-Stat and app's.
Bought the Nest t-stat and got the app for my iPhone and iPad today. Everything works well and very easy install. My Asus router works great with this. I'd ignore the negative comments. There are people out there that can't plug in a TV or Fan, need to stay away and continue to use their manual thermostat !!!
