This is the culmination of a major/minor heating overhaul. I have a two zone system and put in two Nests. They do everything as promised! I can heat up, control, turn off, turn own my house from around the world. It seems to be rather effective in evaluating the heating habits of my household. I can only imagine that the complaints about connectivity that the other reviewers has more to do with their wifi etc than the device itself. Only change would be to allow me to see the current temperature in the room where the device is installed. Other than that... I'm a believer!

Needs Work
Shouldn't have to turn iPhone in landscape mode to fully use app. I was told I have to buy a new router. It's only a couple years old. I get the question mark symbol all the time. Very unreliable.

Needs more functionality in portrait
Great app, but should be able to control Nest thermostats when holding the phone in portrait mode, too. Pain to turn iPhone to landscape every time!

Thermostats are great, app. Not so much.
Recently installed 4 nests in my house (yes, it was expensive) The thermostats are fantastic, the install was incredibly simple, the App on my iPad & iPhone 5 constantly looses contact with the nest server and occasionally comes back. Most of the time I need to completely close the application to get back to my thermostats. God forbid that I now get up off the sofa to turn off the heat downstairs now! Joy. Now fix the app.

So far so good
Just purchased the nest 1gen and installed the t-stat in my apartment. Reason being I have had high energy costs (gas and electric combo) in the past year which should justify the purchase. I am still waiting on my schedule to be setup before I am able to make any assumptions on the device. So far the access to the nest remotely hasn't had any issues with my network or cell network. No adjustments needed to be made on my home network.

Alot of connectivity issues lately
So nothing has changed in my wifi configuration and my nest shows its connected but the past few weeks i have lost access to my router from the app quite often. Not sure its on my end as its started to happen recently.
