Needs serious help
It's a great idea, and I happily paid the fee, BUT…It is REALLY messed up. The directions for the apple walnut cake are actually the directions for the bread, oh, unless you search around and hit the "zoom" button…then you'll find them. A few of the recipes are missing ingredients. The ingredients are mentioned, but not listed..AND they were supposed to update the APP to fix all this but they haven't! I love the GFG and Chef, but this effort needs to be re-worked! All that said, the bread recipe is great, the apple cake was wonderful, the pumpkin pie (with the elusive ingredient of Coconut milk) was very tasty (tho high in fat due to the Coconut milk). Shauna was also very responsive to all the requests for the missing info. BUT, it still needs gobs of work to make it worth $6. I nearly lost my mind trying to sort it all out on Thanksgiving day!

Not worth the cost but...
I bought it in hopes of some great new recipes, but was pretty disappointed. There are basically three types of recipe - stuffing, rolls/bread, and pie (most of them are for pie). The rolls were ok, and the pie crust is already available on the web site (just more filling recipes) I didn't try making the stuffing. There were also errors, like one pie recipe neglecting to mention the starting temperature of the oven. It would have been far more helpful if the gluten free flour blend was listed as a recipe, rather than buried in the intro pages, especially since the blend is different than what I've seen on the website. It also would have been a more helpful if the recipes had been consistent in format (for instance the pre-heat temp appears in very different places). I've looked at recipe apps, and none are so expensive and give you so little. However, I have gotten SO much from the Gluten Free Girl website over the last that I don't mind having paid $7 even tho the app itself is not worth it, in my opinion.

Stellar application!
I am thrilled with this app! I am a capable competent cook but baking gluten-free remains a challenge for me. What I appreciate most is the step by step directions and really sort video snippets accompanying each recipe. For example, the gluten-free sandwich bread video snipped showing the texture and consistency of the batter was very helpful. The recipes are loaded with tip for success. You can't go wrong. The photos are stunning. So far I have made three of the recipes, the bread, the dressing and two of the pies. Each was a snap with great end results. I am looking forward to the next application by this team. Best of all it is easy to navigate which is important for those of us who are technologically challenged. It was easy to download and easy to move from place to place without getting lost.

Nice App One Major Issue
This app has lots of great information, and is very thorough. The recipes are clear, and the explanation of GF ingredients was wonderful. There is one glaring issue: On retina displays, the text is jagged, with the exception of two pages. Fix that, and you get five stars because it's quite annoying, and takes away from the quality if the app.

Missing some info...
I was excited to download this this morning after waiting for it to go live...I really wanted the roll recipe and the pumpkin pie recipe. So far, after having read them both, I don't feel I can make either of these for our meal! The roll recipe does not indicate anywhere on it how many rolls it yields. It does state to "grease a standard 12-muffin tin", which would lead one to believe it yields 12, but this is kind of important info when you're feeding a crowd! Then, I carefully perused the pumpkin pie recipe for any mention of milk, as I have a severely dairy-allergic son. Finding none, I eagerly read on. There is a side-bar on the page about how they substitued coconut milk, and there is mention of adding coconut milk in the text of the recipe, but there is no coconut milk mentioned in the ingredient list--at least not that I could find!--so you don't know how much to add. Looks like I will be back to perusing the web for more completely detailed recipes after having paid $6 for this app! At least I hope to use the cornbread stuffing recipe...it looked good and complete!
