Indispensible
I am thankful for this App. The off-line capabilities alone makes it fantastic. It has a large database and has rarely failed to return matches. And, the author(s) are responsive. Indispensible. I agree with the other reviewer about the organization and speed of the old version, but the new one will catch-up. Feature wish-list: - online/web doc with simple manual, which might already exist - wildcard for searching, like "*heit" returning anything ending with heit, though honestly * is a pain to enter on the iphone kbd, perhaps a space. - leo.org-like descriptors: coordinating conjunction, subordinating conjunction, adjective, tech., fig., usw. and perhaps others like nom/dativ/akkusativ, usw.

Not Really User Friendly
This app works one way on my iPhone 4s on Verizon and a completely different way on my iPad. I am using the translator from Google to translate a question from English to German. It took my first request and I did the translation. On my phone version I would click into the English block and then hit the x icon to clear my last request. It works flawlessly on the phone. On the iPad version there is no "re-clicking" into the English block. All I can do is switch from English to German, translate, e-mail, or hear it. There are no other icon keys presented to do anything else. Re-establishing the help screens is useless and the only way to get any kind of help is through the developers web page.

good offline dict, bad voice, bad design
Would like more words, though, also synomyms, antonyms, ... The male english voice pronounces often wrong, eg" envy" sounds like "evy", gauge [Br] sounds like "give -b-r" like he hurried through a long list. "indigent" sounds like eidjent. These flaws dont get fixed. many voice errors. what the heck is the english word Wimpern-mascara? The online search in Wiki is very helpful. bing is too often nonsense. updated dec01,2011 sprig is pronounced "spri"?! the app still does not have any in-app support. No App support! Dead app. no wonder never something gets fixed. feb13,2012 voice needs to be redone! UPDATE: this is a very different app now. downgraded another star. Iiked the old one. they should have sold it as a different app but they chose to force an unwanted update on users by lying. this is and for ever will be a zero star app therefore. Maybe there will be the old one "classic" available soon? And worse: bad UI with lack of ink. I cannot see a difference in the favorite star. Also, there is no recording possible, so why the microphone symbol? Aug30 of course they did not fix what their customers complaining about. eg the star is still the same. ( first pic in the samples). arrogant. if it aint broken, dont fix it. What about having the old version back as classic? I paid $2 for synonyms, but most words dont show any.

Useful, but needs work
This is a useful dictionary, but the current version is prone to crashing.

Useless after update
Living in Germany, this was my go-to translator (especially since it ran without Internet). Awesome and easy to use. After the recent update the app won't even open, making it useless. Thanks for leaving me hanging, lost in translation, BitKnights. How do you say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" in German?

Confusing
This used to be a simple and easy to use dictionary. Now it is horribly confusing. Why make it so difficult to navigate? I would look for another.....
