Lost Faith
Like many others, I used this app for well over a year; with the latest update, I lost all my favorites. I loved this app when it worked and its smooth operation. I would easily tolerate and review ads under normal circumstances but these fullscreen ads disrupt cooking, use, and performance - making the app virtually useless. I will be deleting this app and I urge you to think hard before installation and/or use. Sorry, but I have lost faith and will be moving on.

Recipe Box Won't Sync!
I updated to the latest version because the ads were blocking my view of the recipe. Now I have lost my recipe box saved recipes. I have tried the support suggestions to no avail. It tells me it has synced but there is nothing there.

App is recipe for headache
Downloaded and paid my $1.99 to store recipes. Start exploring Healthy Breakfasts and see ad for web clipper at the bottom of each one. They know this is an iPhone app, right? I can't drag web clipper to my bookmark bar. Swiping through recipes and here's a slide for web clipper. And another one. Few more recipes and now there's an annoying pop-up for web clipper that I must close to continue. And again. I get they want me to install web clipper, but they know I can't, right? Insanely awful 42 interruptions in just 15 minutes and that's all it took for me to delete this app. I wish I could tell you more about the app, but I couldn't get that far.

App is pretty good but ads are not
Updated 3 Feb 2013 -- the new version with the improved recipe Bo's now prevents me from seeing any of my recipes through the app. If I want to be able to see them, I have to select them as a Favorite again. Obviously this also prevents me from having any access to my own personal recipes even though these were added to the Epicurious web site years ago. I'll still stand by my statement that the the concept of Epicurious is a great one but I do wish the would fix the app so I don't have to either print off my recipes when I want to make something or run back and forth between the office and the kitchen for each new step.. Also, the occasional pop up ads are annoying, particularly after I paid a fee. I've long been a fan of Epicurious and was thrilled when the iPad app came out. I even bought the upgraded version so I could access my recipe box. Unfortunately, the whole recipe box isn't available -- my own personal recipes can't be accessed on the iPad -- I'll have to go to my desktop to get to those. The real kicker, however is the recent introduction of ads that pop up after I have selected a recipe to view. I don't care if the ad is food-related or not, I paid for the upgrade and shouldn't have to deal with them.

What happened?
Heartbreaking. Lost my entire favorites--over 100 recipes--after the new update and will likely never find them all again. Seriously, why would you do that? I don't want to use this app now for fear that you will do this again and waste my time and energy. Very disappointed with y'all, Epicurious...

This useful app is now BROKEN
Like others, I have the "pay" version to be able to store recipes I liked or want to try in the "recipe box," a list you can add to, that's supposed to sync with any other devices and the website. Now my "recipe box" is vacant. I had several recipes. Was it me? Did I not do something correctly? No, because here I still have the *shopping lists* of the ingredients from those recipes, so something has changed. Ok, annoying, but the ingredient list *does* note which recipe it was for, so I'll just go back to the recipe, and add it to my "recipe box" again... Yet nothing ever sticks or shows up. Empty screen, as though I never used the feature. Maybe Epi is having serious licensing issues or something, and isn't allowed to access the recipes we've used for years from all the various sources. I don't know. Whatever's going on, figure it out, Epi. I have grown accustomed to the convenience of your service, and that's why it's so disappointing to write such a negative review.
