I find this app exceptional. The fork ratings and reviews are extremely helpful and very consistent between recipes. I only choose recipes that have received a 3 1/2 or 4 fork rating and they are usually very tasty. My only criticism (and the reason I didn't give 5 stars) is the INABILITY to sort through, search with in your favorites and categorize your recipe box. The website is much more user friendly and allows you to categorize recipes into folders. It allows you to label the folders as you desire. It makes it much easier to find your very recipes, Overall an EXCELLENT app

Not impressed
I like this app for finding recipes, but it really has some major issues. There is no iPhone 5 support and no iOS 6 support (e.g. sharing options). Also, when viewing recipes the text does not render properly or sometimes it does not render at all. It would be nice to see some Dropbox and Google Drive integration for saving recipes and sharing with friends. Also, being able to export a shopping list to an app like Any List would be cool. Just some food for thought. Hope to see some improvements soon or I may need to reconsider this app.

Not ready for prime time
This app will hopefully be great someday. If it were fully functioning, the ability to add recipes to the Recipe Box from anywhere on the web would be terrific. As would the shopping list function. But it doesn't work. When clipping recipes from web pages, their web clipper allows you to copy the recipe instructions into a "notes" field. But that notes field appears NOWHERE on the web nor in the app. Furthermore, these recipes often disappear completely from my Recipe Box. Sync works intermittently at best. It crashes when I try to select a recipe. The list of bugs goes on and on. I hope to write a stellar review of a future release. But for now, this is so full of bugs it's not functional.

Poorly done "Favorites"
Okay, if you want me to pay to sync my favorites, in theory that's fine. From these reviews, it seems that isn't even done right. But my complaint is, when I add something to favorites on my iPad, I expect it to stay there forever. If I don't pay, sure, I accept that those favorites won't sync to my phone. But if I favorite something, I do NOT want to go searching for it again in two months, when an update to the app has wiped out all my favorites. That's unacceptable, and it's happened several times now.

$2 to sync recipes
Ow, what's that gouging sensation? Oh, it's the epicurious app asking for $2 to sync my recipes down -- once! No thank you. I'll view the web version for free, and have uninstalled the app as quickly as I installed it.

Interesting recipes but what's with the ads along the bottom blocking text? I put up with ads on many apps but on this one I can't even find a way to X out of them. And believe I've looked and looked. This is true for recipe after recipe. You have to guess at the last few lines of the recipe instructions. I've happily used this app for quite a while but this is a new development and it's so frustrating I'm very tempted to delete, delete, delete.
