Don't trust this with your data
I had it working somewhat at one point, but now the CompanionLink software just scrambled my Palm Desktop calendar data and lost all my address data - Luckily I had a backup from a few days ago. - Also, now DejaOffice will not recognize the native iPod Touch 4G Contacts app and is unable to import the contacts into itself. App crashes when syncing. Very weird Terms of Service agreement for the CompanionLink app. - Makes it seem that they get a lot of complaints (probably users who have lost their data) and they don't want to deal with them.

DejaOffice not working
I upgraded companionlink to their pro version so I could sync my ACT! calendar and contacts. CompanionLink states that I had to sync my IPad via DejaOffice. On the first sync, I could get my calendar and contacts to sync. So far, the only way to update my records on the IPad is to purge and reload. This situation is not idea and I have not been able to get help from companionlink to fix it.

POS
I had similar problems with Companion Link Act!->Outlook several years ago. When I first installed this for my iPad2 the first attempt looked promising. Each attempt to fine tune it only got worse. The iPad repeatedly closed the app during calendar sync and I never could get a clean sync without duplicates, or old appointments. I purged repeatedly but still garbage. What a shame, they appear to have a good approach to the solution and I truly loved not having to send all my contact info to a server somewhere in cyberspace, they just still have a ways to go before it produces anything trustworthy for a business use.

Hope it comes together
I have seen minor recent improvements and found work stooges too. To sync over network you must go into set up, select the other sync option, then select network sync again. Then go to Companionlink on PC, reenter at least one number on the network address, then you can sync. It is extremely inconvenient but it does work. My greatest frustration is it will not sync photos as it would with my Blackberry. Don't want the Blackberry back, by do want photos badly. Was originally promised, and tech support tried for several weeks but they ultimately sent out a notice and removed it as a feature. There are several other things it will not do, that was just my big deal. I have used ACT for years and ACT with Companion Link Pro with my Blackberry Tour for the last two years. It would not do everything I wanted, but it did do what was promised and what I needed. When Verizon got IPhones, I converted over. I don't miss the Tour but do miss a lot of the capabilities I lost in the transition. Those losses are related to Companion Link not working well with the iPhone. Companion Link appears to be working on fixes, but not overly successful thus far, at least for professionals. It would likely meet home needs but is not even remotely ready for business and Apple products. Though I am hopeful I am not yet functional.
