The identification filters are too technical for the average person. One should be able to begin the ID search by the flower's color, but this is not one of the basic searches in this app. I have even entered a flower's name and resulted in "No Matches". I do not recommend this app unless you are a botanist.

Two big flaws
Info is good, as are all the photos once you select the thumbnail. This is my major complaint, the thumbnails are virtually useless for identifying what you are seeing ( this is true for all these Audubon apps). The second flaw is that there are no good keys for winnowing down what you are seeing. So, you wind up spending a lot of time hunting one by one for the species you're looking at. For example, I saw a blue dragonfly. After putting in the location and general color, there were still dozens of choices and no way to pick the right one without opening all the thumbnails one at a time. If I had a key (eg: wings with no spots, two spots, more spots, etc) this would not be such a problem. App would be 4 stars with sharper thumbnails, 5 stars with a few keys to narrow down the search. Overall I would not buy the Audubon apps again without these fixes unless you already know most species you're interested in and just want some basic info about them.

Won't download
I've been on two different wifis and it has yet to download. Maybe I can give it five stars if it ever downloads.

Stick to the print version
I find myself trying to use this app and always end up turning to the printed Audubon book & the excellent Newcomb's Guide to Wildflowers. And I am a trained botanist. There should be a way to get money back on expensive apps because I'd return it to the store if it was a book. Disappointing for - the limited number of flowers - the failure of detailed search to find flowers - the poor image quality

This ap is really helping me learn about wildflowers. It has so much information that it seems overwhelming at times, especially when trying to identify just one flower in the field. Pictures of the whole plant with the flower would be helpful. I tend to lose the scale with just a picture of the flower itself. The more I use this ap, the better I appreciate it. Thanks

4 stars because I was able to finally figure out 3 wildflowers that came up in my yard this year. But I think it could definitely be improved and expanded on. Would love to see updates and continued improvements so this could be a five star app!
