My go-to Bird App
I love all of the Audubon nature apps, this is no exception.

I loved this app. Yes, past tense. It is NOT worth the money anymore. Months of bird watching lists are gone. Rare birds I will not see again and my documentation of them are gone. It's not because I didn't back it up, it's because they updated the app by creating an all new app so the info does not connect anymore. You cannot save birds any longer so it is a pretty picture guide for someone not interested in tracking progress. It is a huge file and very slow. The bird is long gone before I can get to it on the app. I am sad and angry. I'm a student and have no extra money but wanted to invest in a hobby and I love nature. This used to be well worth every penny, now I'm thinking of deleting it altogether and using a book and a pencil instead. Please don't waste your money. You will have better luck getting a birding ebook or loading a bird book PDF on your phone or iPad.

Great app!
I've found this app to be very helpful in identifying my neighborhood birds and their calls. Love it!

I used to love this app...
...and then they added "Nature Share." I don't mind having it there as an button for those who are interested (though since the size of the app crashes my phone every time I update it, I'd also argue that anything that can be done to minimize that size should be - I understand that most of it is because the data about the birds is resident on the phone, which I appreciate, but that doesn't mean other things couldn't be deleted or streamlined), but I don't care to be coerced into joining a social network in order to use an app that I paid good money for (and more than I've paid or intend to pay for any other app, at that). Having to click through a "no I don't want to sign up for your data mining attempt" every. single. time. I load the app is simply obnoxious - not to mention that when I'm sitting there looking at a bird that I'd like to ID before it flies away, the extra time loading and getting rid of that advertisement takes is completely counterproductive to an app that purports to be about, well, identifying birds. The actual bird ID part is great - but the social networking part has gotten so intrusive that I will be deleting this as soon as I find something else reasonable for simply and quickly - here it comes again - identifying birds. I had wanted to purchase some of the other Green Mountain/Audubon apps, but you can be assured that that will most definitely NOT be happening.
