Audubon birds
Just downloaded update. Was intending on complaining re the app before update, about lack of usefulness to ID due to small, massive quantity of look alike birds interspersed with all birds. Was unable to isolate to area other than immediate surrounding area that had already been sited. Too small Thumbnail views of too many look alikes not in your area made it useless for ID purposes. This looks like it may have improved enough to use, and if so, may deserves 3 stars. If not, will return to down rate. Will rate 3 stars due to even greater use of memory (Audubon reptile, owl & bird apps the biggest memory hogs, along with Green Mountains Nature Tap, also paid apps but with inadequate number of creatures). Had to delete other apps, & with this update have to delete more. This could be resolved if they allowed one to download only the birds/creatures of a certain USA REGION(s), like mid atlantic, or northeastern, etc that one is in. If one wants them all, fine, but I would appreciate less use of my memory. Where are the innovative developers?

Audubon Birds
I love this app. It was one of the first three apps i bought after picking up my iPad. I am a very amatuer birdwatcher, but i love being able to look up and identify birds visually. What is really amazing is being able to identify them by their calls. It's fabulous and worth every penny!

Audobon Guides
I have had this for several years now (and two iPhones). I love it, particularly for the songs & calls. We have a lot of foliage where we live and I can recognize MANY more bird by sound now, thanks to the extensive sampling of sounds. This feature, above all, makes this my favorite app. I recently identified a Yellow Billed Cuckoo near our house by sound only - I have never actually seen one.

Pretty sweet
This is pretty sweet. I really like the bird calls, each bird has about 3-5 calls that you can play, and the calls are about 12-20 seconds long each. I have the Stokes Eastern Birdcalls loaded to my phone (I downloaded the CD's to my iTunes library). Between the two, I really have a great variety of calls to listen to.
