Works well for me
This is the third or so major rewrite for the WP app. I'm using it in an original iPad so the fact that it is working well is somewhat of a pleasant surprise. I am already a print subscriber and other than a minor error in sign-in indications it worked well.

Poor showing by the Post
Since "upgrading" to the July 1 version of the app, I have been unable to successfully download and read the print edition, despite being a subscriber and logging out and back in again. Dear Friends at The Post, you should deliver a better product than this. Your paying customers deserve it.

Fixed and functional
Title says it. While the print subscription confirmation failed following the upgrade and through yesterday, today it works immediately. I have no problem downloading and reading the print edition.

Poorly Executed Transition to Paywall - Resolved
So, the new version requiring a subscription was rolled out on a holiday when there is no support to address login problems. Not a good plan. After installing this new version, I tried to login and got an error. The same login information worked on the web site. I reset my password and was then able to login to the app. This changed my password on the website too, of course. I expected the app to know about my subscription. It certainly didn't indicate otherwise until I viewed 3 articles. When I went to validate my home subscription, it said it couldn't link the account. Not a good start. UPDATE: Two days later, the account linking problem has been fixed without even having to call for support. So, I think it's fair to update my review. I have added two stars. The app provides decent performance and has been reliable so far. I like having the print view available to browse the paper like I used to, but I still prefer the standard view. Of course, I have always enjoyed the content from the Post, but for some reason, it doesn't seem like there is as much as there used to be. Perhaps it's due to the navigation. It's basically sidescrolling to get to everything unless you use the section menu at the top. I prefer the New York Times approach where you can swipe up/down to change sections and sidescroll to change articles. Bottom line, if you like the Washington Post content, it's worth downloading this app.

Does not recognize my subscription
I appear to be logged in and am a Sunday subscriber. The Sunday print version appears to download, but then comes up blank. Then the app crashes (iPad 1).
