Very poor "improvement"
I don't like the new app. I am fine with a subscription model and like the print edition option - but in really don't like the layout of the non print portal. The print is too large so I can't see enough stories. I don't like the fact that it is now on the news stand. I want the old one back - or the option to return to the old format.

Terrible
New app is horrible. Limited content viewable. Lousy navigation. Revert please.

Was nice. Stopped working.
IPad formatted content stopped downloading after a few days of use. Hmm.

Thank you
Love this app for many reason. Yes, I am news reader but in last few years there not been much to read. This app, I learned so much in four days, and love all photos that just make me say wow at every photos. Thank you WP for making it free, and comfortable app to read. :)

Not much of an improvement
I'll give wapo this, they didn't totally ruin their app in the redesign like Huffington Post, but I'm not impressed. Why can't I scroll down anymore? Politico is like that and it's not a plus. I prefer scrolling over having to go to a whole new page. And I won't be paying for this come summer, why bother when I can just go online with my iPad? Should they start charging even for web access (like the NYTimes) they'll lose me altogether.

Buggy but a step in the right direction
I like the idea of getting the print edition and browsing through it, but not all the articles are hot linked and there's no indication what available. Not sure how effective the browsable print edition is, maybe something formatted for the screen would be better. There are plenty of bugs, switching between print and online version often gets stuck for example. I loathe the banner ad at the bottom. Makes the whole app feel dated. There could be some things done to freshen up the interface, but overall I think it's an improvement from the previous version.
