Upgraded and lost my app icon!
The WaPo app was my first place to go every morning and my mainstay for news. But after I upgraded the app as requested earlier this week, it disappeared from my iPad, and I can't get it back. I wouldn't have minded paying for the app or for continuing to receive the content. But now it's gone. To see the app I have to go to the App Store. It's much harder to use and scroll. My connection to the Post has been destroyed. WaPo and it's advertisers have lost many customers with this foolish move.

Horrible update
This went from being my favorite news app on the iPad to my most hated. The old interface was great. New interface is slower, has far less content and is very difficult to swipe between stories. I loved how you could read the first few lines of each story before, now that's gone. The new "print" version is a joke, basically just a glorified PDF viewer. If I wanted the print version, I would get the print version. Also, moving to the Newstand is not a feature, it's an annoyance and makes it less convenient to open the app. What I want (and what I would gladly pay for) is an optimized iPad app that has the same content as the website and print addition, with the up to the minute updates for things like traffic, weather, sports scores etc. that the website offers. I cannot even stand to use this new app for free much less pay for it.

Don't Update!
The old app was wonderful and I would have paid for continued use of that version. This version has a crappy font, no depth, and is clearly only free for a limited time as it says it is free for limited time. It also removes the shortcut which can be easily remedied by going to Washington posts website in safari and "adding to home screen" I will need to get my news some other way, but I am very sad that my "go to" news app has taken a step back. This version does have PDF of the actual paper but I still prefer the old app.

Lost in Login Limbo
The app looked pretty good yesterday. The print editin was nice, but it does seem like there is a little less direct content. I had it open today where I needed to login to a wifi access point. Now, when I try to go to a section, all I can see is that login page, but I am not there any more. I can get to other content, and even search for stuff, but I cannot bring up any section front page, even after a full shutdown of the iPad.

Why oh why??
I dont know what made them reformat the interface, but there are 60% fewer stories on the pages and the audio and video links are buggy and not ff/rw -able (see SCOTUS audio from DOMA case)

Not excellent
No depth compared to the old version. Where is George Will and the others. Bring back the older version. This new version is terrible. I probably will not be using this app. I tried using the app again and deleted it. Content is disappointing.
