Terrible
Less content in the basic app, requires you to download a full print edition to get to the content, but crashes the app the majority of the time you try to open the print edition. Could not compare less favorably to the NY Times app.

Poor - a step backwards
I hate the new app. I don't like it on the newsstand. Content is limited. Too many screens for limited info. I'd like a decent Wash Post iPad app but this is not it.

Wait a minute!
I take back an earlier negative posting I made here. I re-installed the new WP app and this time I spent more time with the print edition. I've come to really like it. The non-print edition still seems rough and shallow, but I now don't care because I am busy perusing the print edition! Give it a try!

Amateur
I am a daily consumer of Washington post for iPad. I thought the beautiful design, the pictures, the easy scrolling.. all made the app incredible. I had to update to the latest version of the app and I was embarrassed for the Washington post. The new version is an incredible downgrade, and is flawed in so many ways. My only positive review is that I like the Helvetica Font selection. Otherwise I give the app an F for effort.

Much better now!
The new app inside the Newstand works soooo much better. I really love being able to read the comics, and even seeing the print version! This way I can read the paper the way I'm used to, as a printed version, and I can skim the headlines or read the articles in-depth, and also see the ads.

App organized for advertisers not for readers
From email to WP App staff: I find this app very annoying. There is no ability to prioritize EVERYTHING according to my interests. please provide tab lists to eliminate the need to page through.Where are science and health? Why no easy access to favorite columnists? Print edition is useless without hyperlinks to articles. I do not get print because I do not want the advertising. When NYT put up the pay wall, i stopped reading it. You have built an app for your advertisers, not your readers. There are too many sources of information to bother with your stuff. But I do like the ability to set up favorite cartoons. Too bad you won't let me do that with everything else. I can find your articles easier via Google!
