I really want to support a local newspaper, but the Washington Post is just so awful, I can't. The new digital subscription policies are awful. Their print subscription policies are deceptive, and awful. The app won't recognize print subscribers. They let Tracee Hamilton write in the Sports Section. Their editorial policies are awful. Its all just awful. 1) Digital subscriptions are awful. Why, oh why, are digital subscriptions more than print subscriptions? Why do you want me to order a dead-tree version that will just go into the waste so that I can access the app? It is so stupid that it sets my hair on fire. 2) Print subscription policies are deceptive. When your subscription is a bout to expire they send you letters saying that if you don't pay for a renewal, your subscription will lapse. But then when you don't pay for a renewal they will auto-renew your subscription and bill you. When you want to manage your subscription on-line there is a button for everything but cancel. For that you have to call a number and wait on hold and listen to a relentless sales pitch until you just have to be rude and tell the operator to stuff it. If you try to subscribe using one of the dozens of special offers that they send you, because the dead-tree version is cheaper than the digital version and includes digital access, then after the order is complete there is a deceptive up-sell page that looks like one more button you need to press to complete your order, but is really just trying to get you to buy more than you want. These people are shameless. 3) After signing up for a paper subscription just to get access to the app, the app still won't recognize the print subscription. 4) They let Tracee Hamilton write for the sports section. Her writing is insipid drivel, usually praising Canada's hockey team over the U.S. players or some other contrarian nonsense. Even her name is wrong.

There is no clear way to change a user account. I am logged in under my account but my home delivery subscription is under my wife's log in. There is no way to log out as a user and log in as different user.

App needs work
In app navigation is clumsy - the standard is the Wall Street Journal app. Also the app still wants me to buy a subscription to get unlimited access even though I already have one and the app settings have validated my subscription status.

New update
Takes for ever to load. And in extremly unstable. Print edition impossible to use. If no improvement seen in one month I will cancel subscription.

Too Pricey
Decent app, great news, but are you kidding me? $15 a month? I fully understand the need to make money, but that seems way too high.
