Great VA synth
I would strongly recommend this synth. Its loaded with options, the filters sound very smooth (despite some clipping at high resonance levels), and overall is a very powerful audio tool. With all the various filter, arp, and even sequencer options, you can get just about any synth sound you can imagine out of this app and with low latency to boot. I notice no lag when using this app in conjunction with an Alesis I/O dock and an Oxygen 8 midi controller.

Best synth so far!
I've learned to not expect too much from audio apps on the iPad, I understand why some are so limited. But this synth really surprised me. So many features and the sound is amazing. It may be better than any soft synth I use in Logic Pro on my desktop. It would be nice to have more presets and I'm guessing they will come in future updates but then again, I just end up making my own patches anyway. I haven't used all the features yet so this review might be premature but even if nothing else ended up working im still glad I bought the synth. Keep up the good work, devs! I'll be looking for future releases.

Core MIDI broken; not being supported
While this is a pretty good sounding synth (for which I'll give it one extra star), it is the only one out of all my iPad synths that refuses to work once the iPad is connected to my music computer, which makes it next to useless for me. If you visit the "support" forum, you'll not only see that others have had the same problem, but also that the app has apparently been abandoned. I wish I had checked up on that myself before spending money on it, but at least I can warn others of that.

The Best
Superior sound quality that can emulate a variety of classic analog synths as well as morphing textures never before experienced by Earthlings' ears. Very expressive with loads of adjustment levers, sliders, knobs and switches available on the main screen plus a plethora of deeper editing screens that are quite easy to navigate with dedicated buttons located across the top of the main menu. Instant gratification via tons of free presets and the developer continues to update with amazing effects and options. It's quite easy to find a desired sound defined by category, manipulate to taste and save to a new folder. This just might replace a set list (if I can ever get all those confounded lyrics memorized). Only a couple of nitpicks at this time: 1) The slide option for the onscreen keyboard being a tad clunky and jittery, but a mute point if one is using hardware controller keyboards as most would for serious studio work. Once a key is triggered on the screen, sometimes you must lift up and touch again with the intention to slide. Yet during semi-quick runs the keyboard often slides a bit, hindering accurate notes. Perhaps I just need more practice. Sure would be nice to have octave switch buttons. 2) No velocity available over MIDI? However the on-screen keyboard does simulate it with the loudest notes triggered when keys are touched closest to the player, softer as the keys are touched closer to the virtual pivot-point. I have tried nearly every iOS synth and this one edges out several others that are narrowed down to my favorites folder mostly because of the immense variety of sounds from the mega lush morphing pads to intense over-the-top distorted leads, plus the speaker melting hugeness capable with this engine; not to mention the ease of further sound manipulation with the well placed and complete set of modulation interfaces. Many hardware synths are jealous of Sunrizer.
