excellent app - turns your iOS device into a Logitech Squeezebox
Like the other reviewer I made the mistake of looking at the Squeezecast interface and was initially disappointed I paid $5 for it. I felt it lacked features and was underdeveloped. However, I was completely missing the point of this app. You only need to open Squeezecast ONCE on your iOS device, point it to the IP address of the computer where Logitech Media Server (LMS) is running, and THAT'S IT. Then use the free Squeezebox iOS controller from Logitech or any of the others that are available in the App Store. Squeezecast will appear in the list of devices, select it, choose your music and you are good to go. So simple. I use the Logitech controller and it works pretty well. The best part is LMS - it is really a flawless app, it scans my music library quickly, and it integrates fantastically well with iTunes, including playlists. I used to use Zumocast to stream my iTunes music collection to an iPod Touch in my home, but Zumocast stopped supporting iOS and I was a bit lost. This app is great because of its simplicity and it integrates with LMS which I already had running on my computer (I own an original Squeezebox). I can't recommend this app enough.

Works ok
I wish they would update this to allow you to fast forward/slide into a song, show playlist, and sort by album names.

Just ok.
Not much to say except for the money it's a bit clunky. My only real complaint is the column is too low. I have 4 different brands of ear buds and none of them are loud enough using this app.

Not perfect, but pretty good
Clever app. It's not as good as the desktop squeeze player, but pretty good

Latest release is a big improvement
The combination of this player app running in the background while using the excellent iPeng app as the controller seems like a workable combo, but connection reliability in this app are really dragging the experience down. The app loses connection to your server frequently, and can sometimes take multiple attempts to reconnect. This issue must be solved before it can be considered ready for prime time. That said, when it does work, it's great - I love streaming my home music collection into my car stereo! When it works.... Addendum - I am raising my rating from two to four stars. A recent upgraded version has made some serious improvements to connectivity. Still not perfect but much, much better!

Turns your iPod Touch into a portable squeezebox
I've had this app since December and I love it. The most recent change allows the app to keep the connection with the squeeezebox server even if it is put into the background and is not playing anything. As the developer states in the description, the app is best used in combination with something like iPeng to control it. I have streamed FLAC to my iPod via squeezecast while walking around my house with my iPod in my pocket. I've also set in one place for hours streaming FLAC to my iPod while reading. Never have I encountered a hiccup. I'm amazed at how well this app works - and it supports gapless playback to boot!!! It's a bit clunky that you have to start squeezecast, then switch to iPeng, select the squeezecast player, etc. However, this is not even version 1.0! As well as it works, it's well worth putting up with this slight bit of clunkiness. It does what it's supposed to do very well - act as a squeezebox player on you iPod Touch.
