Apple's default and BBE off sound DIFFERENT!
like another reviewer here, I am also testing this app with the B&W C5 (along with my X10, SA1, and Vibe 2). However, I notice that if you switch between the apple player with no EQ and turning BBE off within the app, they sounded totally different! Not sure what is going on but it seems there is something going on in the app to make the effect sounds better. Also the app lacks tunes for trebles which is sad.

Almost perfect
Needs CROSSFADE Also the ability to create playlists within the app. This app has the BEST sound overall by a large margin of all the music enhancement apps I have tried.

Almost perfect
I purchased this after reading reviews on earbuds. I currently own a pair of Bowers & Wilkens C5's and was curious on how they compared to other brands. I read in a review that while the C5's are already stellar (no argument there), the presence of a hardware-based headphone amp would dramatically improve highs and lows. Now, since such a thing would be cumbersome on an iPod or iPad, I also read about software-based solutions such as this one. There was a lot of positive feedback so I decided to give this app a try. From a sound perspective, I notice enough of a difference so that this is now my default music app! I'm a huge fan of presets so now it will take time to tweak the settings to make them just right. The configuration is not as detailed as equalizer alternatives, but I'm ok with that. My iPod is not meant to be a soundboard after all. Now here's what keeps it from being perfect: 1. Music sorting within the UI can still be improved - When I navigate my library, I choose by Genre->Artist->Album->Track. What Sonicmax Pro gives me is Genre->Album->Track. Result - more time to find my music. 2. True Gapless Playback - There is still a noticeable blip between tracks, especially on concert selections and mixes. Reminds me of when Rockbox first came out on iRiver devices. Result - I use the default player for these. Shame because I want to use this for all of my music. All in all, great effort and worth the purchase. Hoping for these issues to be addressed and then I'll be happy with this as much as I am with my C5's.
