This app deserves a review....
Because committing to a service like this is kind of a big deal for people like myself. For my business, it takes hours of entering data, contacts, due dates, etc for 50+ projects. Podio has me thoroughly impressed with their web service, and their iOS apps are great (not perfect) as well. Building custom apps to suit my business really sets Podio apart from all of the rest. App building is not something you can do from the iOS apps, so don't download this app expecting to get full functionality. You really need to customize the service and build apps from the web. Once you do this, you can add these custom apps to your Podio app home screen on the iOS app (making them truly seem like separate "apps" within the app). Podio really turns your business into its own "social network." The activity stream is just like Facebook, and instead if commenting on photos or check-ins, you are commenting on projects, tasks, files, or other activity within the site. Push notifications are instant and very reliable thus far, and opening them via notifications takes you straight to the conversation/item from in the app. Another great feature is the file attachment implementation. You can pretty much import from anywhere, google drive, Dropbox, evernote, yousendit, as well as from your computer, just to name a few. I take notes on my iPad which are automatically synchronized to google drive, and instantly available to attach to any project or task in Podio, pretty awesome. Some improvements that I would like to see in the iPhone/iPad apps is better task list implementation. For example, from my task list on the iPad app, I can't see the related project with the task, but on the iPhone app, I can see this information. Also, I would love the ability to filter my task list the same as I am able to filter my project list. Also it would be great to add a "star" to selected tasks to create a next-action list for GTD. As is, you really have to depend on due dates to sort your list, no other options there. The above additions to this app would make it perfect for me, but it really is quite awesome anyway. I would definitely recommend Podio to fellow business owners who are in search of a highly-customizable project/CRM/task management system with a great iPhone app. It is especially worth it of you have a small-ish team of 5 or less team members, because it's FREE! (hope it stays that way)
