Readability Compromised
Others have commented on the lack of usable screen real estate in the latest update. What's even more annoying is that many of the ads have moving text and images. This distracts the eye and makes it difficult to read the actual articles. I strongly suggest to the Times that you disallow character movement in the ad area or, better yet, ditch the ads entirely.

Slow as molasses
This latest version has taken things to a new low, and it is now insanely annoying to read any articles. There are pauses loading an article, there are pauses updating, and there are pauses scrolling an article. This used to be my favorite news app, but no longer. (10/21). I came back to try after ios5 upgrade, and it's gotten worse… (07/06/13) And now, it's down to only 3 articles a day, plus a fixed bar at the top & bottom. I've had it with the Times…time to switch to a news source that gives me news, not restrictions.

Sports scores revealed! Can't turn it off
This app is infuriating! It announces the winner of major sports events ruining time delayed matches and tournaments. You can't turn it off without turning off all news updates (so why bother having this on your phone if no news updates!)

Hate the ads!
I'm paying for a subscription, but you're still subjecting me to ads? Outrageous!
