Tragic Loss
The New York Times, along with the Wall Street Journal, and previously The Washington Post were the only three well known, mass-marketed, bastions of quality, daily newspaper journalism left in this country. It is sad that the world of digital media has chosen to make an absurd price of the New York Times--unless three whole articles suffice to educate our nation. Unfortunately, the now cheaper, mass-marketed "journalism" available (e.g. The Chicago Tribune, held afloat by useless byproducts such as CareerBuilder which serve as advertising cash holes), are increasingly fed to people who deserve better. I would give this one star, however, I do indeed respect The New York Times, the information it delivers, not just to We, the United States of America, but to the World. It is sad, however, that this is now becoming increasingly only available to the "privileged class."

I am a print subscriber, and the main reason I downloaded this app was to make managing my subscription easier. But this app doesn't do these things. I wAnt to pay my bill and suspend for vacation from within the app. I love the Times, and hope a future version of the app will do these things

Doesn't auto-refresh / 3 article limit stinks
Too many times I get on the subway and am stuck with yesterday's news because it doesn't automatically push today's paper. Otherwise functionality has gotten much better, but I can't accept the $15/month, so am stuck with 3 article limit.. So I tend to use other apps for news and read nytimes less.

The NY times is trying to charge $35 a month for reading the news?!?!? And if you don't pay you can only read up to 3 articles?!?!? No thanks. I am going to look for a replacement. Maybe NY Post?

Not working at all
I subscribed. For a long time it worked. out of the blue it is the worst. When I read the articles it asks me to log in. When I log in it says I am not subscribed. When I hit subscribe it says I am already subscribed. I have spoken with NYT online help. They sent me to Apple which has a menu to sort through and threat of a charge to help with making something work that you had to buy. Nice young man, the second person I spoke with now at least thirty to forty minutes into trying to fix this... unsuscribed me and told me to uninstall and reinstall. I had already done that but did it again. I did, still doesn't work. Got a survey asking how the help was. Friendly but the problem is not solved. Problem still is happening. I am shrugging it off, guess I will subscribe to something on my kindle instead.
