The Citi ad on first page is annoying

With paid access, this is excellent
Definitely worth it to pay for access

Do not update, removes content
Loaded the latest update, and access is limited to just three articles per day, rendering the app useless without subscription. The access to "top news" articles in the previous version was great. Do not update!!

Don't update!
You will bd limited to only 3 articles per day. PERIOD. Not just limited to reading as many of the TOP news of the day, as you were before, if you don't have a subscription. Three articles a day In Total. This is a giant step back for the Times. The newspaper business must be worse off than I thought, for the Times to make such a stingy change to their app. I can read as much as I want of the Washington Post through their app.

Harassing to sign up
I receive the paper Sunday edition at home. The app shows me properly logged in. The recent update now harasses me constantly to buy a subscription! Every time I launch the app, I get a splash screen telling me that I'm in a trial period and need to subscribe or sign in. When I dismiss that and go to the preferences screen, it shows me as already signed in! Please, NYTimes, take more care with the updates you release. Junk like this damages your reputation and loses customers!!!

Putting ads in that take space on my phone's not-large screen, when I get home delivery as well, is just plain ridiculous. Furthermore, beyond the top news and popular tabs, it's impossible to explore the paper; I can dig through one or two sections if I wanted, but I can't just flip through pages of headlines like I'd like to be able to.
