Latest ios7 refresh is refreshing!
Love the side to side swiping from sections. Finally, swipe to go back is implemented too! The iteration of this app really speaks to the dedication of the nytimes team to the quality of their digital product. Only qualm is not having full screen view of articles, the top bar is unnecessary once you start reading.

Awesome on ios7
Huge upgrade, much more natural reading experience on iPhone than before since you can now flip through the paper without having to click on different sections.

Love the news hate new app
Every single time I accidentally slightly swipe left or right, I lose my place! Urrgghh. This is some thing new, I just haven't had this much trouble reading the articles before this latest upgrade. When I select a word and ask for the definition, the dictionary—which used to work seamlessly with every app—now reports no definitions found. So I tapped the look on the web option, it took me to the safari yahoo! search for the word. Then when I go back to the article it actually lands me back on the top news page! So I cannot finish reading the stupid article easier. FIX IT! I miss the iOS 6 version.

Zero Stars yet another step back
Things were getting better then I've begun to notice more ads that I have to skip through to get to my articles - EVEN THOUGH I AM A PAYING SUBSCRIBER - additionally - they've tried to copy the visual simplicity of the iPhone with this latest update but now you have to make two selections to save an article and there is no visual cue to let you know if an article is saved. Even worse, I have to go to the sections selector and seek down through MANY sections to get to my saved article - brilliant - I wonder why print institutions are failing in new media - beginning discussions now with the wife about canceling our subscription Do these guys use their own app? Do they try out a proposed change first or are we the guinea pigs? So sad
