UI was great, now poor!
Give me a break! How can you take a perfectly great product, with a perfectly good user interface and screw it up. The up and down arrows were perfect, intuitive, and provided easy one degree control. The new UI is not intuitive and does not provide the precision I want. There's overshoot then undershoot. It's TERRIBLE! String message to follow! Get an update out there ASAP! Who tested this?

Adds issues, doesn't subtract issues
New: I hate the "twist" method of temp-setting, especially on range. Super-easy to accidentally bump, hard to set at a fine resolution. The best method I've found is to tap the sides. Old: still requires rotation for most productive operations. I'd like to go back to the previous version for now, and have it updated to support both portrait and landscape operation. Or at least force landscape mode on app launch, so I don't have to lock or unlock my rotation and jiggle around with my phone.

Can't make changes
First off, requiring landscape mode is evil. I leave my phone locked in portrait mode, and there's nothing in this app that shouldn't work in portrait mode. Second, after unlocking, rotating to landscape, and finally being able to make changes, none of them will save. It says the nest service can't be contacted. Won't work on WiFi or LTE in multiple locations. Love the thermostat, but the app is basically useless - read only (can't make changes), and annoying landscape requirement really kill it.

Battery / Connectivity Issues?
Like other reviewers, I love my NEST! But since the last update, I've had connectivity issues and now my battery is reading low, prompting me to suspect it's draining itself trying to find or hold the network connection. Is this coincidence or are others seeing similar problems? My NEST unit has run flawlessly for 10 months, and now this. Hoping for answers.

This app kind of let's the amazing thermostat down. Lack of precise control and lack of info on the main screen. Tell me the fan status the humidity status let me adjust the temp with either simple arrows or better let me scroll my finger around the wheel Like on the device. Seriously. This is an amazing piece of hardware. I've been a tech for 13 years. Now time to hire a good programmer for the app. Update. Since I have both heat and ac turned on two arrows would t work. I've found simple single tapping where I want either needle to go is perfect. Upgraded to four stars cause of the lack of home screen info.

You will not see the new app controls until your Nest has received the update.
