Poor usability design
Device works great but app usability design is junk. Why have all the space just to show small icon of the house and thermostat. To see any other data you have to scroll in minuscule window...

Amazing device, weak app
I feel like the information I want is unnecessarily buried under layers of the app. Why can't I in radiantly see the current temperature of my house. Instead I have to click on the thermostat to see how hot it is in my home. Also, I hate having to rotate my phone just to get to deeper information and functions of the thermostat. There's no reason that stuff should be unavailable in portrait mode. It's just an unnecessary extra step.

Nest vs Apple AirPort Extreme
Bought the thermostat yesterday.. Everything works except for the Internet connection. I have an apple air port extreme base station bought in January of this year... Every time the thermostat goes into (sleep) mode or when the screen goes off the nest will disconnect from the router and I can not access it online.. When someone walks in front of it, it will reconnect for a few minutes... Nest please please fix this! UPDATE... Called Nest and they had me reset the NEST to defaults and reset my APEB and all is working great now for 2 days!

Love the NEST, app could use more features...
I'd love to see a few updates to the NEST app and the NEST itself-- For the app: Ability to see detailed energy reports in-app on the fly. App should be able to detect when main users iPhones are out of the house and set to auto-away, and also detect when users are within a certain radius of the house and turn away off. For the NEST- Satellite sensors for main bedrooms. I'd love to have a wifi temperature gauge in my bedroom and be able to tell the nest what specific rooms I want priority temperature on and when. That would be a game changing feature.

Easy to setup - worth the $$$
I have to agree with the guys complaining about landscape mode. Portrait gives you plenty of screen real estate. HOWEVER with that said, the units have really shown me how inefficient we use our HVAC. It's more than worth the investment. Would like to see statistics reporting on when heat and air are in use and what the outside temperature was at that time.

Used daily
I use this app everyday. Not life changing, but definitely eye-opening. Both the Nest and this app has made everyone in our house more conscious regarding conserving energy. While it might take a few years for the Nest to pay itself off in terms of savings, I like that my daughter is concerned about wasting energy. Don't know why anyone would be bothered by having to turn their phones to landscape while using?
