It’s really annoying that you can’t access home/away from the portrait orientation. It’s a simple fix which would make the app more usable

New version, same annoying portrait/landscape interface.
My phone is always locked in portrait mode. It requires way to many clicks to reach often used features in Nest landscape mode. Home/Away and Fan on and off should be accessible from the main portrait screen. Currently they require an orientation change and 4 clicks. So very annoying. **Welcome to v3: Same ole' buried features and menus, and annoying landscape mode. I am probably gonna back over the cat setting my system to away while leaving the garage one of these days.

Fix outside temp and bring back the arrows
This app is fine, except for the thermostat arrows removed in the last update, but the hardware has problems. • The outside temp indicated on the app is chronically incorrect. Off by about 5-10 degrees from any other weather app. • Had to replace a unit within 1 year. Warranty covered it. Unknown cause. • Thermostat ambient temp is off significantly making the thermostat somewhat useless. This is a new problem after more than a year, but it is affecting two units. I don't think I will replace these when they die, which I expect will be much sooner than any thermostat I've used before. Nest is going to have to be the best to compete in the years ahead, with Honeywell and others catching up. They need to eliminate these bugs now.

Nest Thermostat App
New problem. Got a new high speed Verizon FIOS router. My Thermostate is connected and working fine but the app keeps loosing connectivity on iPhone 5 and iPad Air. Both running up to date software. So I hope the app gets fixed since the equipment is running and working. I tried reinstalling the app but that didn't fix the problem. Verizon has been advertising its new router for awhile. So please fix the app. Thank you

When my thermostat is on the local network and reachable why the hell this app is looking for nest.com ?

I absolutely love my Nest, it is without a doubt the best Thermostat I have ever owned. The App is also wonderful, I travel extensively in my work and this is a Godsend when I am on the road. The house is always the perfect temperature on my arrival home. Thank you Nest, I look forward very much to the App update later this month, I am sure it is going to be just as good as everything you do. 😊
