Nest mobile app
Using nest mobile with iPhone 5. I am able to control temp from app but no other functions appear when I place the phone sideways.

Revised Review
My earlier review was 1 star and a recommendation not to purchase. I made 3 attempts to reinstall so the program would run. After 3 more attempts it finally installed and now runs a flawlessly as the free version on my iPhone and iPad. I would recommend now without reservation, great program.

Great product but app is lacking
Most of the most used features are buried. Having to turn my phone sideways to get the home and away option is clumsy. And "at a glance" is funny name for something I'd like to have at a glance but unfortunately I have to tap into several menus to get to and there its confusingly under "Settings." Why Would I not be able to tap the house on the home screen switch between home and away and swipe to the side to see "at a glance?"

I love the app BUT
as some Someone mentioned the UI is horrible you have to click(touch) just to access the panel to change the temp temperature. The info like humidity and current temperature are buried on the iPhone. The home screen is cute but a complete waste is real estate. The control on the iPhone does't even match the ui on the thermostat !! At least add the optional scroll wheel to replicate the nest ui

Soooo much wasted screen real estate
It blows my mind how horribly designed the UI is on both the iPad and iPhone. It's way too difficult to see basic things like current temp and humidity, which should be on the default view. Instead, you have to click on the thermostat, then settings, then "at a glance". If its "at a glance" info, why would you bury it so deep in the UI? Please use the screen real estate. Don't just make a big open space with no info and require three clicks to get any info. And put the settings in portrait mode! Requiring landscape to do anything in the app makes no sense either. Come on. It's not that hard to design such simple UI elements.
