Nest? Good. App? Meh...
I really like the nest overall. The app though, could use some work. While I have no connection problems like others, the functionality itself is pretty minimal. With the innovation of the nest, the developers really should put some more work, specifically more functionality, into the mobile app.

Simply WOW! Beautiful and useful interface, can control from anywhere. Can deff see Apple design influences..Great job! You guys should start designing cars, tvs, watches, home theater system lol Update- 05/16/2013 Pls bring back up and down arrow key just like everyone is requesting! Also need to have Fan only quick setting. It's little confusing the way it is.

Works great!
You can still tap above or below the number in the middle to easily set the temp.

Worst design ever
When are you guys going to realize that making us rotate the device to gain additional info is nothing short of terrible design. It's like you discovered the accelerometer API and now you feel forced to use it. Redesign the entire app, including the terrible update to the temperature gauge. The only reason you get 2 stars is because the thermostat itself is great. Too bad the app is a design nightmare.

Lost Fan Functionality
Most recent software update removed the ability to easily control the cooling/heating system fan from the iPad and the thermostat itself. One can no longer simply turn the system fan on and off to circulate the house air. At the thermostat, a time period now needs to be chosen to run the fan, and this time period cannot be changed by the Nest App on the iPad. At night, I had used the iPad to turn the fan on and off from my upstairs bedroom (using my iPad) based on my comfort level upstairs. With my 2 story house, control of the fan to help equalize the temperature is a MUST; now I have to go downstairs to turn off the fan. Hey Nest programmers, I do not need a big brother taking away the choices I want to make about my energy usage. I consider this change to be an inconvenience and an absolutely inconsiderate move to make without giving the user a choice on how a product that I own can be used. I am now shopping for a new thermostat to replace my Nest thermostat. I cannot recommend this product as I do not know what poorly devised and executed changes will be made to the Nest thermostat and App in the future.
