After a year with NEST stats
I've had the NEST thermostats in my 2 story/ 2 system Atlanta home for a year. Overall it gets 5 star grade. The savings have added up to using 18% less electricity by just controlling the usage waste. Having smart phone control does the trick. At installation time I did call NEST support and the issue was fixed quickly by connecting the C wiring to the stats. Connecting the NEST stats to the wireless home network was easy. GA Power rebated $100 per thermostat because I still had the round Honeywells. Very happy with the new fan controls features. Keep up the good work!

Awesome!
Just bought 3 units since I have 3 zones in the home. I had them installed professionally by a local electrician. They work like a charm! Love the UI and ability to control from any device including iPad and iPhone. Look forward to leveraging all the features of Nest. One feature that is great is the One Touch "Away" and all zones essentially go in sleep mode so I conserve major energy when not at home.

Innovative idea, app to grow?
This system is an innovative and effective approach to reducing HVAC costs. It will save me money and is engaging to interact with. I hope the app will grow (actual temp trending vs. set point through the day?, hardware expansion to security system too?).

I just purchased and installed the Nest. So far it is great, however, I must concur with the others. The removal of the arrows is a step backwards in functionality. This is what happens when software engineers make decisions instead of customer feedback. This was a bad decision for customers and since we pay we should have some input. Only 4 stars due to the downgrade in remote functionality. Since we get energy reports the following day why can we now get them instantly? The other day my AC wasn't cooling properly. It would have been nice to check and see that the system had been running more than an hour so I could either turn it off or raise the temp to turn it off and save money. You promote energy conservation.

Bad UI
I love this concept and was one of the first purchasers but they have made the UI of this app - and the website and the device painful!!! A simple thing like changing the system from heating to cooling requires you to know to turn the iPhone horizontal and then dig into menus. I understand it but none of my family does. So now I get messages from them to change the heater to ac. Now possible with remote control but a new task I never had before. My case is special because I put this in my moms house and she is often hot and cold and changing between ac and heat more than most but no one in the house, even the younger people besides me understand the UI. The web is no better.

Helpful info
Hey folks, I just wanted to give some useful info for those having issues with the Nest since the most recent firmware update. After updating, I no longer had the ability to change from heat to cool and vice versa remotely. I simply did not have the option available on my Ipad, Iphone, or web applications. I rebooted the Nest by pressing the ring, selecting settings, reset, then restart.. Worked like a charm. I now have the option to change from heat/cool on my apps and on the PC.
