Account Verification Errors
I just bought the Nest tonight and set it up. I clicked on the link in the verification email, but keep on getting an error message. Because of this, I can't login to the app. I even had them resend the email, but it still doesn't work and I can't login yo use the app. Please fix.

Love the Nest. Not the update
I love the Nest thermostat. I've had it for over a year. The latest app update however is much harder to use. Out the arrows back to set the temperature. It is much harder to adjust without them. Also, much harder to set "away".

Worth the effort!
We have had the first gen nest for 1.5 years. A friend bought one and I signed up on a three month waiting list to get ours. I paid $250. Glad we waited! I've seen the nest go through multiple changes, and with any new product there is going to redesigns and tweaks for the first few years. The app and device software have gotten better for the most part. I no longer have issues with the nest disconnecting from the network and having to reconnect physically in front of it. The airwave feature keeps our house from being stuffy and after the last update, the temperature on the thermostat seems to more accurately reflect the ambient temperature in the room. I do agree with the other users and would like to see the arrows come back on the temperature dial on the app. I don't alter the temp often anymore, but when I do it is sloppy and jumps around (that's why the 4 stars). I don't have any issues changing between heat and cool on the app, I just verified. I will have to say it has been worth the hassle. I have changed the temp via mobile app for a babysitter at home at turned on the A/C from auto away before we returned home with guests. We have saved $$ since day one and I no longer have to tweak the thermostat all the time like a conventional thermostat or traditional programmable. I have had them all and by far would by a nest again. Customer support was awesome when we first installed it as I failed to read when i first bought mine and found my HVAC unit was not compatible. The tech had me take a picture of my control panel wires on my old thermostat and email it to them. He stayed on the phone until he received the email and walked me through my options. I was able to use the device after all. Have some patience, the company listens to its customers!

HATE the new app update
They removed the simple ability to switch back & forth between A/C & Heat, or to set it to do it automatically. Now you can only turn it off or on. Please change it back. That was the main reason I purchased this thermostat.

Can't switch systems after update.
After the last upgrade, I'm no longer able to switch from heat to air from the app. This functionality used to exist in an earlier version.

It disconnects and useless remotely
I bought this for a second home and was going to put in first home also. Although the gadget looks intuitive, the features are useless after the Internet is interrupted for any reason, as in down for two mins and internet goes back up, the thermo is down and will not reconnect/ping internet to reconnect automatically. So once away from home, you need to physically go back home to reset on the main unit before remote access is possible again. Huh? So if your on vacation or second home, or need to adjust while away during the day, you need to travel hours back to home to take advantage of remote capabilities? I contacted support and the answer is they can't reconnect except to physically reset on thermostat. I consider this false advertising for second home or remote access when it is more inoperable than useful. It assumes Internet does not get interrupted...really? Who was in denial about this when they designed? They won't even say that it's going to be added to feature releases/updates so I just bought a dud.
