Novice app users beware
If you don't know how to poke around and operate apps, this app probably isn't for you. But if you're a little more curious, you'll come to find that this app does a really nice job of including alot of features. I like the display of alternate routes, the inclusion of bike directions, the ability to insert way-points and the ability to configure the map elements. I'd like to see more features however including the display of not just terrain or satellite but also bike route maps. Also, it would be nice to have public transportation directions.

Pretty useless
I do not recommend this app. I have been looking for an app that I could plot a walking route and know how long it is. I figured I would give this one a try, after spending ten minutes trying to get it to drop pins and plot the route it tells me I have reached my limit and I need to purchase it! I dropped two pins, that's all I got. It was such a hassle just trying to figure that out I don't feel it's worth it. Someone else may have better luck than I. But I suggest trying before buying.

Not worth it
Map search function just works for the displayed section, many other things which are annoying and some features you need to unlock with in app purchases (2.99)... Joke!

Maps clunky
Very frustrating to use. Even if you drop ten pins of an alternate route, it still generates the shortest route and adds the two (routes) together. Useless for finding off the beaten track roads.

Some people just don't know how to use this app
Don't follow some of these negative reviews. You definitely CAN route from any location, for instance. You just have to learn the pin system in this app. Search for the starting location (by name or by coordinates), then place a Start Pin at that spot. Search for the destination and add an End Pin. It'll then provide a few suggested routes; click on the best one and voila, you've got your route. I'll admit, it took me some figuring out, but after learning the ins and outs of the app, it does in fact do everything that I thought was missing from the Apple Maps app, plus some unusual bonuses like Twitter integration and route alarms. It might not be the most intuitive system but it works and makes sense once it clicks in your head. I bet the rating would be substantially higher if the devs included some form of tutorial inside the app (something they should strongly consider doing).

Of limited use
I was shocked that it will only route from current location. So not good for planning or helping someone via a phone call. I'm faced with several trips where a major bridge is closed. The iPhone Maps app won't let you reject a route and work out an alternative. This one promises a lot but so I figured its functions would be a superset of Maps.
