Disappointing Upgrade
The upgrade on this app is highly disappointing! Granted the graphics were cheesy, it provided kids the opportunity to communicate when they don't possess the literacy skills yet. Also, they took away the ability to resize photos & text boxes, which limits the amount you can insert. I realize they may have been trying to make it user/kid friendly, but my 3 year old niece had no problem navigating the features and the old version was a great opportunity for her to explore technology while expressing herself. Very disappointed and I want to revert to the old version :-/

Update issuers - fix soon please!
My 1st grader LOVES this app! We have been using it for nearly a year, now. She enjoys sending messages to her grandparents, aunts, and uncles- including her uncle in the military. As a teacher and a parent I LOVE that she can stay in touch with family and friends near and far, be creative, and practice writing and spelling in a very authentic way. Unfortunately, the new update has a few glitches. My main problem is my daughter can not access child mode. When tapping "switch" it forces me to create a new child acct. additionally, from reading the reviews I see there are some features in the adult mode that have been limited. I surely hope a fix is on the way, family is waiting for a maily from my daughter! Rating will be updated after fixes. Thanks!! Ps- when fixed, I can confidently recommend app to my students' parents again!!

Loved it!
We recently purchased our first ipad and I was lucky enough to find this app pretty quickly. We can't use the picture button because it's not supported, what's that about? My kids used it daily until the update but not now. As the "adult", I want the ability to use the cool pictures again, instead of being limited to notes. Please change it back!!

Update is terrible!!!!!!
The first version of this app was great! My parents loved this app to keep in touch with my kids since they a good distance away. However, with this new version, my son must first initiate an email before they can send one. It only allows for a reply since they've greatly reduced they web version capabilities. I guess my parents should be forced to buy an iPad if they want the full experience of the app. In addition to that horrible change, the animated gifs that were available to send seem to be no longer available. My oldest son and my niece especially loved that. Oh, well. I can totally see why they would remove such a kid friendly feature for a geared-toward-kids app (<-----that statement was heavy on the sarcasm for those who have trouble reading it). On top of all of those terrible updates which, by the way I've yet to see any changes that improved the children's user experience on the kid side of the app, they've removed the option for the parent of the child to change photos of those whom you're emailing. Why would this matter? If my son likes a particular photo that we have of my mother, for instance, I would have to email or SMS her the photo, in order for it be uploaded. This is an app for children and I haven't seen one change to this app that is neither relevant nor kid friendly!!!! Please, fire the bonehead who came up with or signed off on these changes because its obvious by the current ratings that they have no children or have ever been around them for an extended period of time. I'm seriously considering boycotting this app and setting up another form of communication for my kids to contact their friends and relatives until this gets fixed. Hopefully, the makers of this app will read these reviews and correct their mistakes instead of listening to the 20 something year old with the "bright ideas" (and whom is also without kids of their own) in the Maily "improvement" brainstorming sessions!

What happened to images?
I liked the old version better. I can't find a way to change the images that go with the people my daughter is trying to send emails to. I hope this is fixed.

Bring back full-features to parents!
My kids and I enjoyed sending pictures back and forth--now I have to pretend to be a child to get this functionality. Disappointing update. (And I fully agree with the reviewer who pointed out that many children use older iPads that can't run iOS 6.)
