Forwarding eats bandwith & unnessary invasion
I'm Not comfortable w forwarding my moms nagging to any server no matter how much they promise to keep it safe. Its not like my spam contains state secrets but it feels like an unnessary intrusion of privacy. It sounds hypocritical since that mail came to me through who knows how many servers and companies before arriving on my phone, but asking me to volunrarily send it to you feels like someone asking for my credit card number over the phone. Im sure my phone has the capability of recognizing an email adress or subject line on its own without eating up bandwith or entrusting my mail to someone i dont know. C'mon guys, you can do better. I like the large array of dings, boings and plunks available but what i really want is something that will announce the name or something ive recorded in my own voice. "its your mom" is much better than trying to remember pleeyonk means mail from mom and kerplunk is a call while shlunk is a call from my friend alex and kerching is an email from her.

Works Perfect!
I really needed this app as a real estate agent getting emails all day long, and would like to know if they are important without even removing the phone from my pocket. It works exactly as stated. If there was one item I would change, is being I use my phone as a professional, I'd like more tones that are perhaps more professional sounding, many are, I'd just like more as I have a wide variety of clients. . Thank you for this app, I find it very helpful.

Doesn't work for me
I have 2 exchange accounts, 1 mobileme, 2 gmail accounts. None of them trigger the alerts in MailTones. I've had two other people enter the forwarding copy info in my accounts. All three of us could not have mis-typed the forwarding address. The app just never triggers for any incoming mail.

Mail forwarding? No way
We do not read your emails at our server. We have to take your word for it? If I knew that I had to forward a copy of my email to your servers for this app to work I wouldnt have bought this.

Repeat alerts
Good app with decent features. I really like the ability to group a domain. And direct access to the contacts list. But without repeat alerts for truly important emails that cannot wait it isn't a serious player. Still it's nice to see apps like this even if it requires forwarding.
