Pure 💩
I'm not even upset that I was asked to spend 5 bucks for this upgrade. Developers need to eat. With that said this is a major regression. And I mean MAJOR!! I used previous version on iPhone and iPad and even paid for pro. I subscribe to over 30 feeds and as soon as this version fires up it begins to auto download each one. I sign up for their syncing service and login on my other devices and the app just hangs. I still don't know if my previous version had saved subscriptions otherwise I'm screwed. I really liked version 2(on the iPhone), but it looks like I need to find something else for my 2013 needs. Your days are numbered if this continues.

Still the Best
I've been a long time user, and version 3 really refines the experience, especially regarding sync. I know they switched from iCloud to their own implementation, and it seems to be working much better. I use this app every day, and I've download almost every podcast app before this one. I haven't needed to start browsing the App Store since installing.

Great update
Good Instacast update, especially for the iPad. Still the best podcast app around. Good software is worth paying for.

Too much of the experience is spent searching for functions. It's annoying.

Great update; bad reviews are a bit silly
I understand that people disagree about what features should be added or removed, but the idea that this somehow merits a one star review is kinda childish. Charging for a new version of the app is 100% justified in order to encourage future development, and the developer is quite responsive. I certainly have my own opinions about the app but the intention and drive is definitely there.

Odd update but Instacast is great
I am a big fan of instacast. I was very excited to hear that there is a new version. The new version aligns the ui with the ios6 music player and now the app is universal. The app also seems faster than version 2. Charging 5 bucks to an existing user when other podcast apps are 2 - 3 felt like an odd pricing decision. After seeing the price of the new version I had to revisit other podcast apps to see if it was worth switching. Basically the existing users are starting from zero again. It also didn't feel great knowing that there would be no updates to instacast 2 so eventually I would have to either buy 3 or another app. However, five dollars is not a lot of money and I understand that developers can't support a product indefinitely on only new users (especially indie developers). Also computer apps have always worked in this model (photoshop, office, etc.) Overall I really like instacast and hope for continuous support and development.
