I have no problems paying for apps. Even paid upgrades are fine as far as I'm concerned. I love supporting the developers of my favorite apps because I want them to keep improving and supporting their apps. Instacast has been one of the set of apps I use everyday. I love podcasts, and Instacast has been perfect for my needs. Despite the bad reviews I decided to pay anyway as I'd never used Instacast on iPad and figured between it and cloud syncing it was clearly worth $5. However, None of the new functionality is working for me: • Sync just doesn't work. I've been jumping between my iPhone and iPad all weekend and sync only worked once out of about 10 attempts • I couldn't get continuous play to work on my iPhone at first. I had to manually kill the app and flip the settings several times before it finally took. • The iPad interface is a mess. Volume control disappears in portrait, yet the artwork centers on the screen with lots of black space. Is this the best that could be done? Why not take better advantage of all the screen real estate? • Speaking of screen space, there is plenty of room on iPhone 5 to not have to slide the controls on the bottom? The paging control doesn't work well when trying to scrub either the track time or volume sliders. I have no idea where Vermedio is trying to go. Their in-app purchase model for version 2 wasn't working, so instead they decided to punish *ALL* their customers with an upgrade that wasn't ready. It really seems like they are more interested in what's better for them than better for their customers. I hope they can turn this around, but at this point I think it is better to just try something else.

Don't get this app.
This used to be my favorite podcast app, but today I naught an iPhone 5 and was forced to pay another $5 to download the app. They changed everything in the new app. I can no longer delete my played podcast from the information page. You now have to dig into menus. And when I an in the list of un-played podcast you have to hit the tiny i to get the info for the podcast. I am getting a mother podcast.

Good app, retrieving subscriptions doesn't work
Export your subscriptions to an OPML file before deleting your old version of Instacast because this version's cloud sync does not work. Otherwise, Instacast is still the best podcast app on the app store. However, let's hope this is the last time we're asked to pay for new features for a while. I think at this point it's gotten a little bit old, especially considering how much functionality most apps give away for free in upgrades

Unusable
I'm fine paying for software updates that improve my life. This is an update that promised to fix bugs with sync and the poor usability on the iPad with a fresh coat of paint. Unfortunately it does neither as sync does not work at all, and the app consistently crashes. I moved to Apple's podcast app which this surprisingly makes look stable and thoughtfully designed.

Great update
Great new app, I'm happy with it for now. I liked to pay for Instacast again, I just have to support the developers behind this app. Everything works great for me, also like the new icon :)

App is still in beta.
Account sign ups don't work, picking up your subscriptions from the last version does not work. The backend needs a lot of work. I can say that the iPad layout is much better than the last version. The design at least is a step in the right direction, a small step.
