Excellent reference for artists
I did not even know of this app when AppShopper flagged it as free for the day, but after downloading it and playing around with the functions, must say this is really, really well done. A variety of pre-posed 3D model hands are offered, with the ability to zoom in and out, rotate them and even adjust the lighting! The hands are rendered really well, complete with pores and veins, skin blotches etc, so unless you examine fingers really close, it's easy to forget that these are digital hands and fingers. Hands take a while to master, and this is definitely an excellent reference for any artist. Great job developers!

Nice, but
How do you customize the pose?

The Most Useful Iphone App For An Artist Available!
Are You An Artist? Have You Mastered Drawing Hands? If the answer is no download this now! Works great and has a good selection of poses you can view from any angle. Model is well contoured and can be easily used as reference for realistic hands, comic book hands, or cartoony hands. In the next version I hope they make it so you can pose the hand freely, and choose between different styles of hands and finger numbers. But even without those things this is an artist dream come true!

Solid app that could use some refinement
This is a pretty useful app that, with updates, could be indispensable for artist. Being able to rotate and turn off the lights is truly great. A few things I would live to see updated. A higher level of detail in the base model. There needs to be some work done on the palm folds because the lighting is creating some bizarre effects in the folds at the base of the fingers. Lastly, of course, many more poses would be great. All-in-all, this is a solid app and well worth the price.

This is literally the first review I've bothered to write man, I found this extremely useful especially being able to create the light source location and brightness. The only thing I could think of that would be of any more use was if you could somehow manipulate the wrist and fingers/thumb yourself to make infinitely different gestures. In close, I wouldn't have minded paying more haha.

No more hand puns please
The model is quality with 24 different poses. You can rotate it by any angle and zoom past life size. The lighting can be rotated around the model and each light can be switched on/off independently. I can't wait for more body parts.

Beats drawing your own hand in a mirror. Hands down. Must have app for every comic book artist and others who regularly draw hands.
