Good but could be better
This app is one of my favs! Although every time I play it, I find myself asking, "I wish this game had a tournament (career) mode or online 4-somes. If this app had one of those, it would be 5/5! Also the graphics could use an upgrade -Overall this is a really fun and addictive game. I recommend it

It's just an ok game of golf
I'm really not sure I understand why this game is so praised. Everything about it is just "ok". The graphics are very arguably less than "ok". The physics are decent. The sound effects let you know what happened, but coupled with the graphics, they create zero atmosphere. I can't argue that it's not a good enough game to warrant the meager $.99 I paid for it, but I don't think it deserves to be an overall 4 star app. I'll continue to wait and hope for Tiger Woods to deliver.

Really Fun Golf Game, Best For The iPhone!
This game is in true 3D...the camera follows the ball as it flys, and you can look at each hole from many different angles before each shot, including fly-bys. The ball has good physics and reacts appropriately to hills etc. There are 5 courses to select from, and more are promised by the developer (who frequents his own message board and will answer your posts by the way). Some of the course are realistic while some of them are more like "fantasy courses" - things you would never come across on a real course. This is good and adds a lot of variety to the game. GL Golf uses a 2-click swing system. The interface is easy to use and beginners can jump right into the game. There are 3 difficulty levels. The game features wind, trees, sloping terrain including the greens. You can draw or fade a shot (curve it) to get around trees or fight the wind. You can also shoot the ball low or high, and even add backspin to help the ball stop quicker on the greens. Comparisons to other golf games: Par 72 Golf is not true 3D, is slow, and has a weak aiming system. Ernie Els actually looks like it could be great, but there is only one course. If it had more courses I would check it out, but for the $$$ it just isn't worth it to me. iGolf is just plain bad...I'm afraid of breaking my iPhone with that one. GL Golf is the best overall choice, hands down. Fun game, great support, most features. If you want a golf game for your iPhone, this is the one to get!

Score card
Really needs a score card to track old games. Great game though.

At $8 I feel like I payed a little too much. The gameplay is great and the graphics get the job done well. I wish they would implement stat tracking in a future update. I've spent hours with this game and have really enjoyed myself aside from a few instances when attempting to putt on hills. I may be dreaming but I would also love to see some local wifi and real wifi multiplayer added in an update. Even though the four player multiplayer works just fine passing the device around. Good effort!
