It's a shame
The first game lacked depth in many ways, but is still enjoyable. This game is just frustrating though. I can't even perform a simple follow the target mission because random npc ships come attack me. What's worse is they are much stronger than I am and destroy me quickly. How is that fun? I managed to escape once and tried to get back to the mission only to have the exact thing happen again.

Fun and challenging.
This game takes some dedication, you have to work at it. I like that so I like the game.

Controls
Virtual control stick just doesn't want to budge sometimes so I keep losing battles! I can't turn sometimes! I wish it had tilt controls like Galaxy on Fire 2.

Okay
Could be better. Randomly freezes upon trying to enter a planet. Forcing me to completely shutdown my ipad to clear it up.

Buyer beware
If you intend to buy this because you enjoyed the previous game, then be aware that unlike the first game, this game is Heavy on IAP. You can no longer build new ship freely as long as you have the resources. You need Blueprints to build a new ship, and you'll need to pay again for each blueprint through IAP. The 0.99 'introductory' price doesn't feel like promotion at all. The low price feels like it is there to entice you to buy, and then spend more via IAP to be able to enjoy the game.
