Fun and challenging.
This game takes some dedication, you have to work at it. I like that so I like the game.

Controls
Virtual control stick just doesn't want to budge sometimes so I keep losing battles! I can't turn sometimes! I wish it had tilt controls like Galaxy on Fire 2.

Okay
Could be better. Randomly freezes upon trying to enter a planet. Forcing me to completely shutdown my ipad to clear it up.

Buyer beware
If you intend to buy this because you enjoyed the previous game, then be aware that unlike the first game, this game is Heavy on IAP. You can no longer build new ship freely as long as you have the resources. You need Blueprints to build a new ship, and you'll need to pay again for each blueprint through IAP. The 0.99 'introductory' price doesn't feel like promotion at all. The low price feels like it is there to entice you to buy, and then spend more via IAP to be able to enjoy the game.

I want to like this game.
This game has a feel close to freelancer in game play... However I am finding that the game only opens up if you spend a ton on IAP. For example I cannot find a way to upgrade by ship without credits, and I can't find a way to get credits without spending additional money... Maybe I'm missing something, but throw us a bone here. I should be able to enjoy many things including upgrading ships for the cover fee. Even if they aren't the best in the game.
