Bizarre behavior! As another poster said more succinctly: "It doesn
This has crashed on me repeatedly. Or rather, the problem has often been that it couldn't even launch. At first, I thought it required having wi-fi on for it to work. That's because it seem to launch OK with wi-fi on. I finally had success, seeing the toolbar. But when I clicked on Maps, saw two choices, tapped on one-- CRASH CITY! Now, again, it shows the opening splash screen only for a bit, then crashes and refuses to open. I'm going to delete it and then reinstall and see if that helps! ---------- OK, I'm back. It didn't work. Crashed after displaying the splash screen momentarily. Could the problem be that I'm using an iPod Touch 2G? It is iOS 3.1.3 which the blurb here says should work-- but maybe this requires a different graphic rendering engine from the 3G on models. It's disappointing as I really wanted to use the app and keep current with the satellite and the news. Hope the developer can fix this--or at least add something to the blurb here explaining what's going on! I know, I better check their support site--maybe they have an answer there!! Oh, gee! This is bad. Their support site is nothing more than a repeat of the information that is given above! Very poor! The one fun thing is that the web page is in French. You click on the U.S. flag icon for English (say, why not the British Union Jack? :-) ) Please fix all of this, developers!

This is a really nice start. Could use some enhancements.
This seems like a nice app to learn about Fermi and its science. Might be nice to have a page describing what Fermi is and what it does for those who don't know... I'm thinking of school kids who could download it on their i-device and follow along with the science progress. As it is it's mostly of interest only to astronomers who work on gamma-ray astronomy or related fields. I like the GRB notification feature and am awaiting my first notification of a burst! It would be very cool if the all-sky map was interactive in some way, so that tapping a source would bring up some information about it. Perhaps the sources corresponding to the items on the News page could be featured this way. The new all-sky poster has some highlighted sources, and the app could have an interactive, updatable version of the poster. Love the all-sky map in any case.
