Once a great website, now a useless app
I joined epicurious & set up my recipe box in 2008. Up until a year ago the recipe box was fantastic: able to add my own recipes, make notes to existing ones, FULL EXTENSIVE FILTERS to sort thru my collection of hundreds of recipes. The latter is indispensable, to be able to find a seafood appetizer amongst 300+ recipes when that is what you need was the beauty of this website. Now the webmasters have revised the website, redesigned the recipe box with less functional search capabilities & no filters -- all render the website useless. The app is even worse. To their credit they have finally given the opportunity to access your own privately entered recipes on the app, but without previous filter/search capabilities the app (and the whole website) barely gets a star. I don't know what they were thinking or what their intentions were, but I've gone from a daily user to barely touching this. They have been completely unresponsive to this problem. Ive sent a bunch of emails over the past year with no response. If you go into their website, epicurious.com, look under community >forums & find the threads on fixing the recipe box, you will find a bunch of angry frustrated former users who have posted on this same topic. That gives you an idea of the app support you will get with this company.

Like this app!
I like being able to plug in what I've got on hand, and it'll come back with a whole variety of great recipes. My favorite recipe I found is Easy Fish Tacos. Yum!

Read before buying sync!
A longtime user of both the website and app, I finally broke down and paid the $2 to sync the two. What a huge mistake. All it did was overwrite all of my app recipes with my website recipes. Gone forever. Great. That's really convenient. For two dollars I'd recommend buying yourself a nice cup of coffee and manually deleting all of your app recipes while you drink it. I would have never imagined I could regret an app purchase so much.

On of My Favorite Apps
Search function works well and can be sorted effectively. TONS of recipes, good favoriting system and the ads are cleverly hidden.

Frustrating
App returns irrelevant search results (ice cream recipes when input was for chicken main dish?), and tells me results can't be displayed because it appears I'm offline when I'm online and other apps are working fine. Waste of time.

Plz fix this bug! STAT!
I'm having the same problem that KETA_ noted on Nov 16, 2012, and I'm sure we're not the only ones. I've been a loyal Epi fan/user for many years moving from on-line to iPhone to iPad. I do most of my cooking off of my stored recipes and the shopping list feature helps me at the grocery store. So it's unnerving going into the recipe box to find that half of my recipes appear without titles. Moreover, when I find them and try to load them into shopping list, neither the names NOR INGREDIENTS show up. When I go to the web app, everything is there. I've tried trashing the app, reloading, and re synching but it happens again. C'mon, man! FIX THIS BUG!
