Love it
I love finally being able to get rid of all of my clipped recipes from Bon Appetit and others from over the years and have all of those recipes electronically. Yes, I could do it before on the Web, but having access to the recipes on my iPad is fantastic. Much easier to carry that to the kitchen than either the laptop or the binder of recipes. Oh, and I love the ability to create a shopping list. Very cool. Thank you for making this app. I do wish that I could sort my recipes by type--chicken, pork, vegetable, salad, soup...whatever category. That would make it super easy to find things. (I guess you can do this on the website, but adding that functionality to the app would be great.) I have never had any problems finding a recipe or syncing my recipe box. I think it's fantastic! And for what, $2, you have all of epicurious' recipes on your iPad/Phone? Beats buying the magazines!

Doesn't sync your own recipes
...or recipes uploaded by users. But they take your $2 anyhow and leave it buried on their website that this doesn't work. Why bother?

Great content, very poor app
I tried *really* hard to like this app as I love the number and quality of the recipes, but the app is so bad that it outweighs all the benefits...to the point where using epicurious.com is a far better way to go. The user interface, performance and stability of this app are honestly atrocious for modern standards. It is the worst IOS app I've ever used, and it hasn't improved over the last few updates. I've been putting up with the flaws for over a year now, but the icing on the cake was when all of my favorites just disappeared. I wasn't about to pay even $1.99 towards such a rotten app to "sync" my favorites when the expected behavior would be that they're backed up to my computer via iTunes. Now I will spend many hours of my time finding them again, and when i do they'll be bookmarked in Safari instead of Favorited in this lame app. To the product team - the content is so good that I would gladly pay up to $40 for this app if you ever decided to make the needed improvements.

Junk - waste of time even of its free!
Search for three different recipes all returned the same results with over 22000 hits. You can tell me that vinegarette dressing is found in lentil soup.

An app of this magnitude, backed by a major publishing house, should have better functionality. Basics like: - ability to set up categories for your recipe box - view your notes on recipes - combine like items in shopping list - edit items in shopping list - limit of 10 reviews listed With iPads as becoming more prolific, this app is important to your brand.
