I'm hungry...
I was all set to buy groceries today. I got on the epicurious web site, picked things out, save them to my recipe box, and was excited to finally make use of that sync feature i spent an extra couple bucks on. Right? ...i didn't add crab cakes. Or any of the 99 recipes that are in there. When you delete them, they mysteriously come back. So, did it ruin my day? No. It's a stupid bug that shouldn't have made it out the door though. You should fix that, Epicurious.

Sync stopped working
As pointed out by others, my synced recipes disappeared. The only fix was to revert back to the previous version of the app (3.0.3). Nice job testing your work, developers!

App is great, but not the sync add-on... Appears to be fixed!!
As others are reporting, free app works well. I've been using it for months now. Nice interface and features, and found many great recipes. However, just bought the sync add-on. It wiped out my favorites, and is sync'ing with someone else's favorites. Wait until they work out the bugs before buying. Update: This morning my favorites are back and sync'ing properly. Thanks developers for quick fix!!! 5 stars again

Do not update!
I have updated this app twice and twice lost all my recipes, even though I pay the $1.99 fee for having my favorites backed up. I can confirm the complaints other users have had in this regard. Bottom line: some good recipes. Refuse, however, to upgrade your app or you will lose them. Customer service does not even exist at the publisher of this app; you get back a canned completely useless standard response.

SAD!
Do NOT try sync upgrade. Have enjoyed this app for years (first on iPhone then on iPad) and now it is worthless . . . less than worthless. As another review mentioned, you may lose ALL your favorites. Mine are still online but would prefer to access from my "mobile devices". All started with the "update" last week. May be time to explore other options. :(

Content is great, but app is so frustrating!
The latest update emptied my recipe box and put in someone else's recipes. I also can't add any recipe to my box. By even the pathetically low standards of this app, which rarely misses an opportunity to snatch repeated frustration from the jaws of awesome recipes, excellent fork ratings, and great shopping list and sync functions, this latest "update" is a doozy. Dear Epicurious, please hire someone who actually knows how to code and fix this app (and the iPad app). Then build in added functionality: ability to search within recipe box, easy letter-based scrolling in iPad like in iPhone app, etc. It's not rocket science, people.
