I have 100 cookbooks in my purse!
I have been a member of Epicurious since the beginning of time. It's my go-to source for recipes. They have such a large catalogue of wonderful recipes and the reviews are incredibly helpful. I trust Epicurious recipes more than any other source because real people cook these recipes and give very thorough, thoughtful feedback on cooking times, adjusted amounts of ingredients and improvisations that have worked for them. There are a few essential changes I would ask Epicurious to consider for the upgrade. 1. More reviews! The app shows a very limited number of reviews and it's helpful to have access to at least 20. 2. We need to be able to search our recipe boxes by subject (salad/dinner/dessert) or ingredient (chicken/chocolate etc.)! Currently there are only 2 ways to search - alphabetical and by recently added. I have 121 saved recipes in my recipe box, the list is only getting bigger, and if I can't remember the name of the recipe it can take forever to find it. 3. I need to see my own notes that I have taken the time to add to the recipes in my recipe box. If I have to go back to the website for this, the point of having it on the mobile device is somewhat lost. The shopping list feature is brilliant. I love this app and I'm sure it will continue to get better and better.

Great app
Never had any problems and content is great. Impressive for a free app. Highly recommend especially after fiasco of foodnetwork app taking away all of the recipes.

Missing reviews and locks up
This app shows a limited number of recipe reviews. Several reviewers refer back to earlier review, but it's not visible on Mobile device. This app locks up or often makes it unable to navigate. The home icon disappears when viewing recipes. Often I've had to reboot app completely. It's even locked up my iPad completely. The grocery list is unable to consolidate ingredients. In one case I ended up with lemons listed twice. Annoying!

Excellent!
Unlike other free recipes applications out there this is definitely excellent! Tons of unique recipes to try with great features like Search food by keyword and shopping list. I just love it! Highly recommended!

Miss
I thought that this would be a perfect meld: iPad and my saved recipes on Epicurious. My first sync yielded 256 of 375 recipes, with 54 blanks. A re-sync yielded the same low transfer rate. The tab for newest was worthless, as my new purchase of a Giada cookbook was thrown in with the rest of the older recipes. The search box failed to find this group of recipes as well. Save your $1.99 (payment to be allowed to sync), and wait for Epicurious to fix this major bug.

And the value is?
Not worth the time it takes to load. One minute on google will get you ten times the recipes. The search function is a joke since if you search for "epicurrious recipe name" on google you will ten times the recipes that you will on this app. It can't find epicurious recipes?? Duh!
