It's app has potential and is easier to use than the web site on my iPad. However I paid the extra $3.99 to sync the app to my Recipe Box only to find that it doesn't work! Waste of Money! Use the app but don't bother with the sync feature.

Good recipe app...with one problem
This app has thousands of delicious recipes, an easy-to-use interface and plenty of polish. It's great to share recipes across mobile devices and the web with the Recipe Box too, though that's been flaky from the last update. Is anything wrong with Epicurious? Yes. After some use and saving favorite dishes, you may have a few dozen or maybe several hundred saved recipes in your recipe box. You can view your favorites either alphabetically or by entry date. But if you want to search your recipe box for a particular kind of dish, you can't. Try to find "baked salmon" in the app. You will see the entire category from their huge database. But if you saved three specific favorite recipes in your box, you won't be able to find them. This makes hash of the entire reason to have favorites: to be able to retrieve them quickly. In their defense, this problem is the same on the epicurious website, so the publishers don't seem to see it as an issue. But as a paying customer, I do, and it's a shame. If Epi made our recipe box favorites searchable, it'd be an outstanding app. Until then, it's good but not great.

Doesn't match website
I find a lot of recipes on the website, and I just finally noticed there's an app. I downloaded it, and the first recipe I search for on the app is nowhere to be found. That's pretty useless since I'll still have to go to the site.

Favorites accumulated over years can be retrieved
Among best cooking Apps for years until noticed all favorites are gone...Seems other user review had solution. Sign in online...then favorites will reappear on all devices. Epi needs to fix this glitch, but should have notified all users since this is the first time they had made me very, very unhappy.

They have lost all of my favorites!
My first App review ever. I have been using this app for several years and loved it! Tonight, I decided to buy the $1.99 "sync" feature. I have an iPad, an iPhone 5, an iMac and an iPod Touch. The "sync function" is worthless and has lost all of my favorites on the iPad and the iPhone. The iTouch still has the favorites, but if I click on them and ten select "add to Recipe Box" then they get dropped from the iTouch also. What a lousy experience and disappointment for a site that has given me so much cooking pleasure. The app developers should be ashamed of how they have totally screwed this app and how many loyal followers they have made angry. vawhite57

No iPhone 5 screen support
I would like to see an iPhone 5-optimized version of this app so that the bigger screen is utilized.
