Excellent for controlling diabetes
I gave this app a try, along with "Carb Master", to see which would be better for keeping track of my low-carb diet. I knew that I didn't really need the diabetes part of this app and it's a very small part of the latter app, but I thought I'd try them both out for a bit. One of the developers must have been cheating off of the other's final exam, because it turns out that both apps use almost the EXACT SAME INTERFACE for the Carbs section of their apps. They draw from the same database of foods and, apart from some minor cosmetic differences, the GUI is IDENTICAL. That's not to say that it's bad, of course. Quite the opposite: I find the Carb-counting section of both apps refreshingly easy to use. Since I do not have diabetes, I cannot fairly judge that portion of the app. This was also the reason I have chosen not to purchase the full version of this app—I simply don't need the diabetes tracking functionality and don't feel like spending that much more on an app that is, for me, overkill. That said, I'm still giving this app five stars because it seems like it'd be a KILLER app for someone who needs to track their diabetes as well as carbs!

Ok
Tried Buddy lite. A little disappointed on the limited entries... Haven't had for longer than a week. Setting up meds are ok to start..... But to maintain on a daily basis is difficult if on multiple items ..., keeps asking for mgs. Would also like an easier way to recall favorites. Ok program but not to purchase. Shen

Within limits
Not a cure all database, but very useful in seeing trends or patterns. Keep it's limits in context and it does very well.

It's the best one I found but not that good.
Searching for types and brands of food is very complicated and time consuming. This app does help me keep track of what I'm doing wrong and right which is a huge help, but when it takes over an hour to add what I had for lunch, it gets really tedious. An improvement on search time or a tutorial in the best ay to search for foods would be a great help. I really wish there as a option to use the camera to scan on the nutrition info and the app adds the values. A small con is that glucose reading don't come in .0s ion,y whole numbers. A big pro is when I see my doctor I can physically show him what has been going on.
